XR650 Installation and Programming Guide
Breadcrumbs

System Components

The XR650 is a 12 VDC combination intrusion and access control panel with battery backup. It provides 10 onboard burglary zones.

Additional modules may require an auxiliary power supply depending on the total current requirements. Refer to the DMP Battery Calculator below to determine system power requirements.

The XR650 supports communication with DMP SCS-1R and SCS-VR receivers over cellular or network connections using TLS, 128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption. TLS encryption is supported with SCS-VR receivers only. SCS-VR firmware version X or higher is required to use TLS encryption.

Lightning Protection

The XR650 includes 1 kΩ metal oxide varistors (MOVs) and transient voltage suppressors (TVSs) to help protect panel input and output circuits from voltage surges.

For additional surge protection, install one of the following:

Output Expansion

In addition to 2 onboard Single Pole, Double Throw (SPDT) relays and 4 programmable open-collector outputs, the XR650 supports up to 25 programmable 716 Output Expansion Modules on each LX-Bus. These modules provide up to 500 additional programmable SPDT relays.

The panel supports output schedules that allow 716 outputs to perform a variety of annunciation and control functions. You can assign 716 outputs to any panel Output Option, such as Communication Fail.

To use keypad bus addresses 9–16, install multiple 716 Output Expansion Modules. See the 716 Installation Guide for more information.

Communication

Monitoring Center

The panel reports to DMP SCS-VR or SCS-1R Receivers using cellular or network communication.

Encryption

The XR650 can communicate using TLS, 128- or 256-bit encryption. TLS encryption is supported with SCS-VR receivers only.

Note: 256-bit encrypted messages sent to SCS-1R receivers require an SCS-104 Receiver Line Card with firmware version 102 or higher.

TLS-encrypted messages sent to SCS-VR receivers require firmware version X or higher.

Compliance

For applications that must conform to a local authority’s installation standard or a National Recognized Testing Laboratory certificated system, refer to the XR650 Compliance Listing Guide for more information.
